not lost, just undiscovered

Day 18 – Picture of your favorite alumni alumnus, and 5 reasons why he’s your favorite

(sorry, my three years of latin in high school will not allow me to post that error. :P )

so, anyone who reads this tumblr and doesn’t already know who my favorite is… well, you’re not paying much attention.  LOL.  i’ve been all about the schey since about the fourth game of his freshman year.  after JJ graduated, i didn’t know what i was going to do.  but i had seen that article on jon in ESPN The Mag (the one i posted last week or something), and i was intrigued.  then once the season started, it took very little time for me to realize that i was in trouble with this one.

1. he’s all about winning, above anything else.  witness the conversation between coach k and coach knight that was aired on ESPN during the season.  he doesn’t care about his stats, or whether he starts, or who gets the most shots.  he just does whatever his team needs to have the best chance to win the game.
2. that trait ^^^ makes him insanely competitive at everything, which cracks me up. the boy who rarely tweets will jump right on there if someone mentions something that he feels he needs to one-up. LOL.
3. he’s adorable. i mean, who can resist that lopsided grin?  really, though.
4. he’s a complete smartass, which is also irresistible to me.
5. he’s an awesome teammate. one of the things that stood out to me right away when he was a freshman was that he’s always the first guy there if a teammate lands on his ass (or worse) on the court. he’s always encouraging guys and propping them up, and he always gives lots of credit to others when he’s being interviewed, even if he scored a ton of points.

i really could go way past 5, but i’ll leave it at that.  also, i feel the need to state that my appreciation of senor scheyer does not mean that i don’t care about any other duke alums. he just has a special place in my heart.
